Because the Washington Press Corps is populated mostly by Millennials who have been propagandized to hate Republicans and conservatives, they rarely catch the really important things in Trump-related news cycles and focus instead on inane, pointless things that don’t make a hill of beans to the vast majority of Americans.
For example: After selective snippets of Left-wing Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward’s new book “Rage,” featuring interviews with President Trump and some of his former White House staffers, were released, the press corps honed in on statements the president made in which he said he downplayed the severity of the virus.
Trump publicly said that the virus wasn’t much worse than a bad cold (a statement which has proven to be largely correct) but he told Woodward at some point after the virus began to spread beyond China’s shores that it was worse than a regular cold and that it was very “deadly.”
But you know what? We don’t know what the timeline for Trump’s statement is — that is, we don’t know when he said it. At the time, he may have been citing data from that bogus Imperial College of London model that predicted more than a half-million deaths in Britain and 2.2 million in the U.S.
And really, does it matter if Trump ‘downplayed’ it in public (because he didn’t want to cause a panic — remember, there was already a hoarding problem)? Of course not, because policywise, states and cities followed the administration’s recommendations to shut things down and quarantine healthy people (which has never been done).
But this ‘controversy’ pales in comparison to a real one: A planned coup against the president of the United States from his own administration.
As the Conservative Treehouse notes, “According to a pre-release excerpt from the Washington Post Bob Woodward writes about a discussion between General James Mattis and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats about a plot to overthrow the elected government of the United States.” (Related: President Trump, this is why it’s time for a full-scale purge of the intelligence community: a ‘red thread’ still runs through it.)
The Washington Post:
Mattis quietly went to Washington National Cathedral to pray about his concern for the nation’s fate under Trump’s command and, according to Woodward, told Coats, “There may come a time when we have to take collective action” since Trump is “dangerous. He’s unfit.”
Whoa. That is bombshell stuff, if true — and if we were in charge of the Trump White House, we’d be working overtime right about now to find out if it is.
What’s it called when members of a government conspire to remove a sitting, duly elected president? It’s sedition. And what’s more, it was being planned by one of our country’s newly-retired top military leaders (Mattis rose to four-star general rank and, at the pinnacle of his career, was a COCOM — he headed up Central Command).
As the Conservative Treehouse notes further, Mattis’ alleged sedition is par for the course among the military’s top leaders. The Pentagon stood by and did nothing, for instance, when then-Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the primary source for the ‘Ukraine whistleblower’ incident that led to Trump’s impeachment, put commanders in a compromised position with his accusations and public testimony against the commander-in-chief. And they did nothing to discipline him or stop him from testifying before the House.
The failure to act led The Conservative Treehouse analysts to conclude that, through Vindman — then a National Security Council member, “The United States Military is collaborating with the CIA to remove a U.S. President from office.”
There is no question that is true: The CIA-led deep state was behind the ‘Russiagate’ lie and subsequent spying on the president.
It’s not like we shouldn’t have known this. Remember when Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Trump was “being really dumb” for taunting the intelligence agencies in the weeks before he was inaugurated?
“Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Schumer said. “So even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he’s being really dumb to do this.”
