There’s an old expression that goes, “You know you’re over the target when you start taking the most flak.” That certainly seems to be the case for Attorney General William Barr and the U.S. attorney he has assigned to look into the origins of the FBI’s counterintelligence probe of the 2016 Trump campaign, a.k.a. Spygate.
In October, Barr announced that the probe had turned into a criminal investigation, which meant that U.S. Attorney John Durham had obviously found evidence of criminal activity in relation to Spygate, which was formally called “Crossfire Hurricane” by the FBI.
Since then, the deep state, aided and abetted by lawless Democrats, has been working to discredit both Barr and Durham so that they can get ahead of any findings that implicate ‘protected’ people, claiming that the investigation was “politically motivated” and “biased” from the outset.
In fact, the campaign to discredit both men ramped up dramatically this week, as noted by WorldNetDaily. The site reported that the Washington Post has been called out by the former president of Americans for Limited Government for its “thuggery” over a story suggesting Durham is risking his “reputation” for probing the Obama-era “Russian collusion” hoax.
“The fact that the Washington Post would engage in this type of a slur is a story unto itself. This story had one goal, to raise the specter of retaliation against Mr. Durham if he went into areas the rotting establishment wants left alone. It was thuggery in the most fundamental form,” Bill Wilson wrote in the Daily Torch, a publication of ALG.
The Post story claimed that “some” people believe Durham’s investigation “could tarnish” his reputation, though in fact, Barr assigned the probe to Durham because of his reputation as a straight shooter and professional.
“We’ve all heard the joke. A thuggish looking guy walks into a business he is trying to shakedown and says, ‘Nice little store you have here. It’d be a shame if something happened to it.’ Wink, wink. The message is crystal clear; do what the bully wants or else something really bad is going to happen,” Wilson wrote.
“This scene has now played out in real life. In a so-called ‘news’ article in the Washington Post recently, ‘Experts fear Durham’s Reputation at Risk in FBI Probe,’ the newsletter for the deep state openly threatened [Durham] who is looking into abuses by intelligence agencies and the Justice Department in launching the bogus witch hunt against President Donald Trump under false allegations that he and his campaign were Russian agents,” Wilson continued. (Related: New AG William Barr MUST act against Deep State treason by McCabe and co-conspirators to save our republic.)
This, despite the fact that even the Post opened the piece by acknowledging that Durham is the “go-to guy” to find corruption within the ranks of federal law enforcement and the intelligence community. But the story quickly suggested that some in D.C. were engaged in a “debate” about whether Durham is merely “carrying out a conservative political errand.”
The Post’s hit piece came as a group of House Democrats penned a letter this week demanding that Durham resign because of ‘fears’ he’s “conducting a partisan investigation.”
The letter, to Barr and Durham, came from Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) and was signed by 10 of his Democrat colleagues, the Hartford Courant reported:
The letter — signed by Johnson, Reps. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., Jared Huffman, D-Calif., Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., and five other progressive Democrats — said Barr and Durham should be ousted because they “inappropriately interfered in independent Department of Justice investigations and intentionally used (their) positions to mislead the American public in defense of President Donald J. Trump.”
Democrats doing the bidding of the deep state know what their former president and his minions did to corrupt the FBI, the Justice Department, and the intelligence community in a seditious bid to prevent Trump from taking office.
The panicking has begun.
