When most people hear the phrase “Deep State” they often correctly think of a person who is likely associated with federal law enforcement, the political establishment, or the U.S. intelligence community.
Rarely do they consider that American media figures are part of a Deep State cabal seeking to undermine the will of the people. And yet, certain “mainstream media” figures are not only members of the Deep State, but they are also co-conspirators in some of the worse political scandals of our times, including — especially — the Spygate scandal.
For two years, Americans either read about the Russian collusion “scandal” or were treated to endless stories regarding various aspects of it on cable and network news channels. But last month special counsel Robert Mueller finally put an end to it when he proclaimed “officially” that no election ‘collusion’ between members of President Trump’s 2016 campaign and Mother Russia occurred.
Mind you, there was no other finding that Mueller could have made, realistically, because the entire Russian collusion narrative was a hoax. And most everyone in the nation’s capital knew it…including the media.
Some of the worst offenders were, as tabulated by Liberty Nation’s Leesa K. Donner:
David Corn of Mother Jones: This hack reported with certainty that “Vladimir Putin’s regime” plotted its “information warfare” campaign against the U.S. specifically to get POTUS Trump elected. He wrote that during the effort “The Trump crew tried to collude covertly with Moscow, sought to set up a secret communications channel with Putin’s office, and repeatedly denied in public that this assault was happening, providing cover to the Russian operation.” Wrong, wrong, and wrong. There wasn’t any “secret” backchannel to Putin. No collusion attempts let alone actual collusion. And nothing at all to the charge that the 2016 Trump campaign was ‘covering’ for Russia.
Chuck Todd, NBC News: During a single episode of “Meet the Press,” which Todd hosts, he used the word “crime” four times in connection with the president. Here’s a sample of his hoax-mongering: “You have the Justice Department, if you will, in the Southern District of New York, pretty explicitly implicating the president in a crime.” Pretty explicitly? Either there is an ‘explicit’ implication of a crime…or there isn’t, Chuck. And there wasn’t.
Aaron Black, Washington Post: The second-place Russian collusion hoaxer behind CNN is the Washington Post, where “democracy dies…” period. He recently rehashed all of the fake news stories attempting to tie Team Trump to Russia, including the never-materialized Trump Tower deal in Moscow, the NYC Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer (who was working with Fusion GPS, the “Russia dossier” producer, at the time), and Paul Manafort’s ‘Russia ties,’ which don’t exist.
Joe Scarborough, MSNBC: About the only thing anyone on this network can do to get noticed is to say outrageous things, and Scarborough is the king of tin-foil hat Trump-Russia collusion conspiracies. He once claimed, “Anybody that writes an op-ed and suggests that Donald Trump has not put himself directly in the target of an obstruction charge is just fooling themselves and some very, very stupid, ill-informed readers.” Stupid meets ill-informed on Scarborough’s set.
Chris Matthews, MSNBC: Matthews once observed that Mueller “reminds me of the starfish which gets itself tightly around the clam and uses all its stuff to weaken and pry open the clam.” How…nautical. He was using this metaphor to pretend that Mueller was set to ‘crack open’ Trump and have him for lunch. Not.
Joy Behar, ABC’s “The View”: “I think they’re all going to end up together in prison and maybe that’s a good thing.” Joy, it’s more likely you will go to prison for something before POTUS Trump or his family does.
Finally, Dan Rather, MSNBC: “A political hurricane is out there at sea for him [Trump]. We’ll call it Hurricane Vladimir.” What is it with MSNBC and nautical metaphors? Maybe it’s because the network is drowning is a sea of better competition?
‘Sea’ what I did there?
